Gift Ideas
It can be hard to know what to get for the 'watersports person' in your life as a gift, so here are some ideas to inspire some thought.

I've provided links so you can just click through if you like the ideas. The links should take you to the most appropriate website for your country.

01
Waterproof Phone Case
This is an essential item for anybody going on or in the water. You need it on hand for emergencies, as well as being able to check your favourite Apps for things like navigating, trip stats, and the weather.

02
Safety knife or multi-tool
Almost all water users risk entanglement from ropes, including rescue throwlines which might not even be yours. Hopefully we never have to cut ourselves free from drowning, but it would be daft not to give ourselves the chance.
03
Safety Whistle
An essential item to attract attention, to be able to call for help and/or to signal dangers to others. On the water, I'd recommend a 'mountain rescue' type whistle similar to the photo. Avoid the football style whistles as the ball can stick if it gets wet and hinders performance.

04
PFD, Buoyancy Aid or Life Jacket
A must-have for going afloat on the water.

05
Wetsuit Wash
These specialist shampoos will keep your wetsuit smelling fresh for longer. Easy to use and a great stocking filler!
06
Changing Mat
Wherever you're getting changed, whether you're at the side of the river or in a wet changing room, a changing mat will help to keep your feet warm and your trousers dry!
07
Dryrobe
These versatile robes are great to put over your wet kit to keep you warm, as well as being able to get changed whilst you're out and about. Great for paddlers to get changed by the side of the river, and for sailors to put on to keep warm when returning ashore for a break. Available in a range of funky colours too!
08
Action Camera
A wide range of waterproof action cameras are available to document your adventures. A low cost camera might be a great stocking filler for somebody, or if you really want the best footage and features you can go for the latest GoPro.

09
Wind Indicator
This wind indicator mounts on the mast, and is great for most singlehanders without a jib.
It's great to help you to find the wind whilst you're learning, and also to keep your edge on your opponents in competition.
10
Sailing Watch
A must have accessory for any racing sailor, to get the best start, to time your racing, and for training.

11
McLube Speed Polish
Make sure your hull is going as fast as it can, by giving it a good clean and polish. This environmentally friendly polish works on lots of boats, and is a must-have for any racing sailor.
12
Dehumidifier
Perhaps not the most exciting gift, but they're great to have in a household where you've got wet kit. Dry your wetsuit or waterproofs quickly, and avoid damp and condensation in the house. It's also easier to heat dry air than damp air, so it can help save on your heating costs too.
This Meaco one that I use is voted the best buy by Practical Boat Owner and Sailing Today.
